USE YOUR VOICE BOX
Use Your Voice is all about empowering and uplifting. We only want feminism if it's intersectional and that's what we strive for here at The Bookish Mindset. This month's book is a non-fiction piece by a Black feminist icon; powerful and beautiful in equal measures. The gifts this month come from an incredible woman owned small business and build on the theme of the box. As always there will be a tea from the wonderful Bird & Blend.
This book features the incredible All About Love by Bell Hooks. An icon piece of writing about different kinds of love - love we receive as children, divine love, greed, romantic.. the list goes on. I love how much capitalism and the patriarchy are intertwined into the narrative, it was such an interesting read. Full review here.
The small business this month is the inspiring Let Go To Hold On - a beautiful notebook to help you express those feelings of love and a pin to wear with pride!
Our tea this month is a past favourite - Gingerbread Chai!
PRODUCT INFO
By buying a box you’re not only supporting this small business, but three others too which will always include the indie bookshop Pigeon Books here in Southsea. That’s four small businesses doing little happy dances!
Supporting small businesses and indie bookshops is something that is close to my heart. They are the hearts of our communities and kept us going through some tough times over the last few years. It’s the reason I started doing this - there’s some incredible businesses that don’t get the press they deserve because they’re a one-woman team juggling everything, and they deserve some serious love.
Your support means the world to us all, bring on the happy dances and thank you for sharing the love ❤️
